Education
Indigenous knowledge about the importance and utility of wild medicinal plants still exists, although it is on the verge of falling into oblivion due to its oral dissemination and cultural changes. The preservation of an intact forest as a pharmacy was and is an important reason for residents to support its integrity and diversity. To allow continuity of this cultural heritage, the pharmacist Musuyu Muganza has dedicated his time to search for the therapeutic value of traditionally known plants. Bonobo Alive has supported his research in the forest of LuiKotale, the laboratories of the University and the Biomedical Institute in Kinshasa, and his path to achieve an internationally recognized academic degree. As a professor at the University of Kinshasa, he has become a bearer of hope, as well engaged in the training of students as for the concerns of bonobos.
