About Us

Bonobo Alive was founded by researchers from the LuiKotale Bonobo Project with the aim of supporting bonobos and preserving their habitat within the buffer zones of the Salonga National Parks. To achieve its goals, the organization has formed alliances with local communities and conservation groups. Rooted in these partnerships, Bonobo Alive promotes community-led activities that directly benefit the iconic bonobo species, its habitat, and the surrounding wildlife.

Goals

Our primary objective is the preservation of bonobos and their native habitat within the Democratic Republic of Congo. This encompasses endeavors aimed at conserving the distinctive fauna and flora of the region. Additionally, the association undertakes initiatives such as advocacy for animal protection and raising awareness about its activities in public institutions (schools & universities) through informational sessions.
